The Clean Energy Smart Manufacturing Innovation Institute (CESMII) is a non-profit organization driving the transformation of the manufacturing industry toward a cleaner, more sustainable future. The US Department of Energy's (DOE) Clean Energy Manufacturing Initiative declared CESMII a Manufacturing Innovation Institutes in 2016.

CICORE contributed cyberinfrastructure services and expertise to CESMII’s Smart Connected Worker (SCW) effort. Our team played a key role in the design, prototyping, deployment, and testing of SCW systems, and worked closely with CESMII's experts to ensure that the platform met the needs of manufacturing workers in a range of industries. We leveraged our extensive experience in Kubernetes to implement the UCSD-based Nautilus portal on the backend of the SCW Edge Platform, in order to provide a user-friendly interface for workers to access the tools and data they need to perform their jobs efficiently and effectively.
