Associate Director of AI
Mai Nguyen is the Associate Director of AI at the Societal Computing and Innovation Lab and the Lead for Data Analytics at SDSC. Her research centers on the use of artificial intelligence to address complex problems across various domains. She has worked in many application areas, including remote sensing, medical image analysis, biomedical text analytics, wildfire mitigation, spacecraft autonomy, and speech recognition. Prior to joining SDSC, Mai worked in industry on applications in machine learning, data mining, business intelligence, and data warehousing. She has also been teaching in these areas since 2009. Mai received her MS and PhD in Computer Science from UC San Diego.
